Highlights of the speech
Jerusalem Summit-2003:
The Crisis in Morality and International Policy; How Israel May Be the Solution
There will never be peace with Arabs until they and the world understand that Jerusalem can never be divided. The Arabs will believe that Israel is weak and will give in to everything if we give in on Jerusalem. It is a moral question, the eternal unity of Jerusalem. The core of Jerusalem is the Temple Mount. When we lost it in the past, it was out of weakness; we were forced, but we never volunteered to give up the Mount, which is the heart of Jewish existence.
<...>
The values of Western civilization are being confronted. We must fight to win the war. There are no limitations to this fight. Fooling yourself encourages terrorism. Israel must not permit others to determine her actions. Only what is best for our long-range interests should be considered. What kind of a country do we want?
<...>
Jerusalem should not be a topic of any future negotiations. There will never be reconciliation on that. There will never be a genuine process between us and the Palestinians if they and the world believe that there can be a possibility for the division of Jerusalem. <...> There will never be a Jewish government that will have the moral authority or the political power to give up any part of the Old City. <...> The only way to fight terror is without political restraints. [In reference to the roadmap], Israel must make a unilateral decision, based on what we want.
