LADY COX MARKS NEW ROLE AS JERUSALEM SUMMIT PRESIDENT
WITH STIRRING SPEECH CRITICAL OF UN IN UK HOUSE OF LORDS

Lady Baroness Caroline Cox, a veteran member of the British House of Lords, in which she serves as Deputy Speaker, today became a Co-President of The Jerusalem Summit.

Lady Cox, the first European leader and first woman so designated, will join fellow Co-Presidents: US Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS), Dr. Daniel Pipes, Israeli MK Dr. Yuri Shtern and Bar Ilan University President Prof. Moshe Kaveh.

Baroness Cox noted her election by making a stirring address in the House of Lords which echoed central themes examined at the second Jerusalem Summit:

“The UN Commission on Human Rights is a disastrous example of that body’s incompetence,” the Jerusalem Summit leader told her fellow legislators, “It is almost unbelievable that the UN’s guardians of human rights include Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Zimbabwe, China and Cuba. Moreover, the UN has shown systematic bias against Israel in comparison with relatively uncritical and massive support for Palestine.”

Dmitry Radyeshevsky, Jerusalem Summit Executive Director, lauded the newest addition to his organization’s leadership, saying, “It has enormous significance that the Old Europe has finally risen its voice against the corrupt and immoral UN. And it was the voice of Baroness Cox. We are deeply honored by her agreement to serve as Co-President of the Jerusalem Summit.”
