Reverend Kenneth Meshoe of Pretoria, South Africa, received his theological diploma from the Shekinah Bible Institute, Tennessee, USA. In 1988 he started an independent church called Hope of Glory Tabernacle, which has steadily grown and flourished. In 1993, the African Christian Democratic Party was officially launched in Johannesburg, and Rev. Meshoe became its first president. The ACDP increased its support base by more than 300% in the 1999 elections, and currently has 7 National Members of Parliament and 8 Provincial Members of Parliament. Kenneth Meshoe has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Bethel Christian College of Riverside, California, USA, where he is now an Associate Member on the Board of Regents.
